Hånd vævet Cashmere tørklæde

Some materials simply hold more within them. Not just softness, but a lot of hours, hands, and a story you can feel.

These scarves are made from 100% cashmere from the cold, mountainous region of Kashmir, where the fibres are hand-spun and hand-woven by a single family – exactly as it has been done for generations. The colours are the cashmere goats’ natural shades, left completely pure and untreated.

It is in the Kashmir mountains that cashmere originally comes from, before later spreading mainly to China and Mongolia. The cashmere used for these scarves is hand-spun from the finest fibres, both in terms of softness and strength. It also costs twice as much as raw cashmere fibres compared to cashmere from China and Mongolia.

You can see that the yarn has been hand-sorted and hand-spun in the slight irregularity of the yarn and in the presence of a few stray hairs in other shades that have found their way into the spinning process. This is especially visible in the lightest scarves.

An exceptionally beautiful – and also highly practical – piece of craftsmanship that provides warmth and volume around the neck, yet can be folded up and slipped into a jacket pocket.

The scarves are suitable for everyone, men and women alike.

We purchase them directly from the family, without intermediaries, and only once a year. We begin by paying for the wool when it is bought at the start of the season, when the goats naturally shed their cashmere.

Each scarf carries the weaver’s own small, embroidered signature. It may vary from scarf to scarf and makes every single piece completely unique.

This is the kind of luxury that doesn’t shout – it simply feels good, soft, and warm.

You’ll find them here in the shop in limited quantities and in three beautiful colours.
